Mini - G - New!

Introducing the mini-g - the latest multi-voltage charger in Powertraveller's award-winning range.
Packing a powerful punch, the mini-g houses a 12,000mAh lithium battery and is capable of charging a plethora of electronic devices, all wrapped up in a stylish yet rugged shell.

This charger features multi-voltage technology - with DC output settings of 12V, 16V and 19V.  These outputs enable the mini-g to charge more powerful electronics such as tablets, SLR cameras and netbooks.  Select the correct voltage required to charge your device and the LCD screen will indicate the chosen voltage, then connect your device and start  charging.  The dual USB ports output at 5V making them perfect for charging smaller devices such as phones, smartwatches and other devices that are usually charged via USB.

The mini-g also has a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) feature.  When the mini-g is connected via the included 19V universal AC mains charger and the voltage has been set to the 19V output, if the power supply from the electrical wall socket is interrupted, the mini-g will stay permanently on. It is also possible to charge both the mini-g via the AC mains supply and charge a device from the outputs at the same time.  When using the 19V universal AC mains adaptor to charge the mini-g, the DC output will be set at 19V.  This enables users to charge a device requiring a 19V input whilst the mini-g itself is receiving power.  Similarly, users are also able to charge devices using the USB sockets.

As with all  Powertraveller products, the mini-g is made from hard-wearing, durable materials yet remains compact and light enough to fit in any pack.

Solarmonkey Adventurer

When size and weight is at a premium, the solarmonkey adventurer is the perfect solution.

Incorporating a 3500mAh internal lithium polymer battery, the solarmonkey adventurer features a 4-colour LED light to show level of charge left in the internal battery and a 5V USB output which enables efficient charging of mobile devices. This charger is compatible with a whole host of 5V devices and can charge an iPhone / smartphone 1-2 times, a GPS 1-3 times or an iPad by up to 25%.  It is also compatible with head lamps, e-readers, hand-held action cameras and much more.

The slim, compact design offers optimum weight-to-efficiency at just 265g and the 2 solar panels output 3 watt max.  The adventurer features auto-load, self sensing switching technology, meaning when a device is connected, the adventurer will automatically start to charge your device and will optimise the charging parameters required. The solarmonkey adventurer includes a "daisy-chain" feature which means you can charge your device whilst the internal battery is being charged via the solar panels. When adventurers finally stop after a day’s exploring the solarmonkey adventurer can carry on charging itself and other devices efficiently in low light conditions thanks to the maximum power point tracker (MPPT) technology within it and, when the sun finally sets, the internal battery can keep your devices powered through the night.

The bespoke travel case has been developed using toughened materials and includes integral fixings, straps and a carabiner so that the solarmonkey adventurer is well protected and can be firmly secured to a backpack to make the most of the day’s sunlight to recharge the internal battery unit while on the go. There are also pockets within the case to hold your cables and tips.

Packed full with protection features including short-circuit protection, overload protection and low voltage protection and importantly, thermal insulation battery protection giving an operating temperature range of -10 to 90 degrees C, the solarmonkey adventurer wins the hearts of those looking to charge from both battery and solar from a compact unit.

Powermonkey Expedition

With an ever-increasing number of people heading out to the world's most remote locations, it is evident that a growing amount of mobile devices are going with them. The need for unlimited, off-grid power has never been greater and now, we can supply it. Powertraveller has developed a world-first in off-grid power generation. The powermonkey expedition is a revolution in portable charging technology, bringing together multiple ways in which to naturally, yet efficiently generate power - all housed in strong, aluminium, waterproof casing. The waterproof (IP65 rated) powermonkey expedition houses a 10,500mAh lithium polymer battery which can be charged in three ways; via hand-powered crank, solar or via the international AC mains charger.

The strong, ergonomic hand crank allows you to generate power at a comfortable speed thanks to the 32:1 gearing ratio. The unit features an LED that indicates the optimum speed for hank crank charging - when the LED is green, the hank crank is producing energy at an optimum, efficient level. The anodised, aluminium casing is ridged, providing a secure grip even if your hands are cold/wet or you're wearing gloves. 10 minutes of hank crank charges the internal battery by 1% - equivalent to a 6.7% charge of an iPhone 5s. Once the battery is charged, the hand crank folds away neatly or can even be removed completely if required.

The sun is the ultimate source of energy for our planet, so harnessing that energy is the most natural way to generate power. Supplied in the launch pack is the solarmonkey expedition - a solar panel housed in a very strong, lightweight, aluminium case which has been specifically developed to work with the powermonkey expedition. The solarmonkey expedition outputs 5 watts, 5V 1Amp and is capable of recharging the powermonkey battery unit in 12-15 hours in optimum conditions, perfect if you're in the desert, up a mountain or simply on the move. The aluminium acts as a heat-sync, making the panel both efficient and hard-wearing and it can charge devices even in low light conditions thanks to the MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracker) technology included.

The solarmonkey expedition is waterproof (IP65 rated) meaning that it can withstand water projected from a nozzle against the unit from any direction and is also dust-tight - perfect for when you're off the beaten track.

The powermonkey expedition is also supplied with an international AC mains charger that will work in over 150 countries around the world. The internal battery can be fully charged via AC mains in just 12 hours so you can be sure that you have power before you head off into the unknown. The international AC mains charger is a major benefit in remote areas where electricity may be limited or unpredictable.

Featuring both 12V DC and 5V USB outputs, the powermonkey expedition is capable of charging everything from iPads/tablets, two-way radios, satellite phones and smartphones, to GPS, head lamps and SLR cameras, plus a plethora of other devices. Users can also charge from both outputs simultaneously while charging the internal battery, giving you the freedom to keep working.

Both input and output cables are connected via a unique IP67-rated housing system, ensuring all connections remain waterproof, for up to 1 metre for 30 minutes.
The powermonkey expedition has been cleverly designed so that additional charging options can be added at a later date. Whilst the hand crank, solar and AC mains are currently the primary power generation option, supplementary options will include wind and water (currently in R&D), steam turbine, gas and hydrogen fuel-cell, so whatever situation you find yourself in, the powermonkey expedition ensures your essential devices will never run out of power.
